BeFunky

Somewhere along the line in my blog-stalking today someone led me to this fun website. I tried retracing my steps to figure out who it was that led me there but couldn't seem to find it again.. Check out all of the fun things you can do to your photos at the website called BeFunky .
All of these looks and more with no LSD involved.... For free mind you.
I must warn you though...you can waste a lot of time here in no time at all. Beware.

Allison's Baby Shower

My niece Allison is having a baby boy soon and her sister Jenny emailed me to ask me if I could loan her some stuff and help her set up for a baby shower for her. She already had these plates and napkins that she had ordered online. She had the black place mats too.

These candle holders are the same ones we used on Angie's head table.
Why yes, they are for rent or sale. There are six of them.
I used what teething rings I could find in the right color as candle rings.
I offered to do this fruit & cheese display but pretty much all of the other food was made by Jenny herself. I couldn't believe what all she had made. When I asked Jenny how long we had to set up she said an hour. I told her to forget it then. I can't even get the tablecloths to look right in an hour. Mine are all mix and match and stained and the wrong sizes. We ended up renting the tablecloths for the rounds. I was telling Big Boy about my dilemma and he said he just happened to know the guy that ran the Community Center where we were having the shower. He made a call and we ended up getting to come in at 8:00 AM instead of 12:00 PM. Big Boy comes in pretty handy most of the time.
Jenny made a bunch of cake balls amongst other yummy treats. She had labeled some water bottles too but I guess she forgot to take a picture of them. She also forgot to send me a picture of the mom to be. At least she remembered to take pictures. I can't seem to remember to get a memory card for my camera. Oh wait, I have a few memory cards. They just seem to keep disappearing.
My other niece Paula volunteered to make this diaper cake. She seems to enjoy doing them. She does a great job too. She's has part of a poem down on the bottom of the cake that has to do with having a mother who reads to you. Jenny had each guest bring a new book for Allison to read to the baby.
This last picture I meant to add to the post before this one. Pictures of Angie and Erik's reception. I just decided to stick it here instead of editing that last post. These are the candles and view from the stage behind the dance floor. Not sure who took the picture but I like it.
Thanks!

This shower is listed at the Creative Party Place. Thanks Shannon and we will miss you!

More Reception Photos

We hired caricature artist Karen Kovich to work the reception. People really seemed to enjoy it. Here she is drawing Kristin and Big Boy's new BFF husband Dave.

The Healthy Train Table. :) Father -daughter dance.

We also had a photo booth in the back of the room which proved to be a fun time for all who went behind the curtain.
Emma, Joey and Kamryn in the booth by Memento? I can't find a website for them but that's who Angie told me it was from.

My Aunt Judy whom I don't think I even got to talk to at the wedding with my Uncle Tom.
This groomsman (John Gould) was a dancing machine. He even jumped up on stage where we had big candle holders and cut the rug. He brought no date because he was planning on dancing with every lady in the room I heard. I think he almost met his goal too.
Towards the end of the night we had them bring out a nacho bar. Unfortunately it was gone by the time I made it off the dance floor to the back of the room.

Some of us didn't want to see the party end.

More Ceremony and Cocktail Hour

Angie made up welcome bags for all of the guests who were staying all night at the Union. They were filled with treats and Bloomington info and such. She also included a "Do Not Disturb" sign for the guests' doors for the next morning. From the looks of how many she had left at the desk the next morning there were quite a few guests who didn't receive theirs though.

My BFF Barb took this picture from her hotel room which looked into the ceremony site. Most all of these pictures in this post are from her camera and my friends Jeanie and Dave's cameras.
Thanks you guys!!

Before the trip down the aisle.

Here comes the Bride!!

"Best you take good care of my baby Son."

Maid of Honor Natalie aka (Sunny) looks on. A bridesmaid bouquet.
The Kiss.

The Joy.
Time to celebrate!!
Big Boy and I were celebrating our 28th Anniversary on the day that Angie & Erik were married. It wasn't planned that way , just sort of worked out that way. This is Barb and Phil. They've been married even longer than us. These two were the ones who fixed us up on a blind date like 35 years ago. Quite a handsome couple, don't you think?
Phil loves to fish... Phil loves beer. I think Phil liked the name of this beer (Bass) that was served here at the cocktail hour in the Solarium at the Union.

Angie had them serve a couple of Signature drinks. The Jensen & Tonic and The Perfect Pear.
Of course she made the sign to match her linens and her invitations. (I need to show you those invitations when I find the pics.)

Angie decorated these "We Do" stir sticks.
I actually just found a picture of the inside of the invitation. Here it is right here. Angie worked hard on them and we heard a lot of raves about them. Of course the front had her A*E logo on them. Somebody liked their drink. (It wasn't me) I switched to wine.

Here I am with my friend Dave from High School trying a signature drink when I got to the cocktail hour. Looks like I should have insisted on a hair cut when I went to the salon a few days before. The girl wouldn't cut it though that close to the wedding. That little heart clutch in my hand I bought for Angie. But since she evidently didn't want it I put to to use myself. Yes, that drink was sour.
Below from left to right is Big Boy with my BFFs Gloria, Brenda and her husband Kevin, myself and Barb. I think Big Boy should wear a tux more often.

You'd think with all the time we had to plan this wedding that we would have known what we were putting on the cocktail tables, but Angie didn't seem to care about them much so I ran out and bought limes to cut up and put in the vases that morning. Luckily for me Diondra from Social Butterfly came in to get some boxes for the place card table and found me trying to cut up limes. She decided to use whole ones in the taller vases because we just didn't have time to be slicing limes. She took all of the vases and limes and flowers out of my room and told me to let her take care of it. Thanks God or I probably would have had a nervous breakdown before it was all over, since I was supposed to be in the Bridal Suite having my hair and make-up done.

Here I am with more BFFs Penny and Debbie (who picked out my dress and made me wear my hair up) along with my mom Janet and my sister-in-law Patty. I'm lovin my mom's dress.

Another beer with a funny name. Erik is quite fond of special brews.

Cocktail Hour has come to a close. Thanks for joining us.
