bobbi+mike My Photogs of the Week (Angie's Engagement Session) click here!

I know I've been slacking when it comes to posting my photography blogger of the week. I've been losing the will to blog and have been preoccupied with taking care of a whiny pooch who was malled by my neighbor's dog last week. She's walking around with a lampshade on her head that she somehow can get out of very easily when I turn my back on her. And believe me, her open wounds having me wanting to turn my back on her at every look. It literally makes me want to vomit. So enough about Pooch and all of our dog woes. Right now I need to get back to my blogger of the week. I can't lead you anywhere else this week other than to the amazing bobbi +mike website. I know I've led you there before but this time my little girl Angie and her fiance' Erik are on the blog with their engagement session. I have to say, they look pretty striking in these photos (if I do say so myself) The super talented bobbi+mike have done a stupendous job on these. Go now and check them out! This one is my favorite.

The Cupcake Tower Giveaway

My daughter Angie is obsessed with cupcakes. She just made a bunch for a baby shower at work. Anyway, I was just telling her about an awesome cupcake blog that I just discovered. However, Angie is going to have to look at my blog to find out where she can get the recipes. The recipes can be found here... www.cupckaeactivist.com/ Some of the recipes for Thanksgiving look delicious and are pretty cute to boot. Look at these adorable turkey cupcakes.

Look how yummy these Dulce de Leche Pumpkin Cupcakes look.
This blog is all about cupcakes and I will probably be checking it out all night long. Elise Wallace is the cupcake activist and she looks as adorable as her cupcakes do. She is having a giveaway right now that ends on Nov. 20 so hurry over and get your entries in to win this cool cupcake stand. I understand that the winner of The Cupcake Tower gets to choose their own ribbon detail package which can change the color to match your event. Pretty neat.

The Sugar Factory http://www.sugarfactory.com/

My youngest daughter Natalie had to show me these lollipops that she and her friends have and are spending $25.00 a pop for. Maybe you all know about them but they are news to me. They are pretty blingy and would make a fun pampering gift for your bridesmaids and/or flower girls. They would be fun on a bachelorette night out too. These lollipops are quote "couture" lollipops and you can get Kim Kardashian's Favorite, or the the Brittany Spears Circus Tour Lollipop and The Pussy Cat Tour Pop to name a few. They get them on-line at The Sugar Factory. This is a pretty fun site to check out. They sell other types of lollipops and candy also. They have a page full of celebrities holding their Couture Pops. The Sugar Factory also has a store in Las Vegas in The Mirage. You can also purchase chocolate, gift baskets, apparel, etc. and replacement heads for your pops. Makes you feel like a kid in a candy store. Have fun looking.

My Photography Blogger of the Week is Brian Dorsey Studios http://blog.briandorseystudios.com/

I found this awe inspiring photography blog last night as I was looking at David Beahm's awe inspiring Design Blog. Brian had been a photographer for at least one of the weddings Mr. Beahm had done. So naturally, I went looking at his work and it is outstanding. Brian and his team are based out of New York and certainly don't need any of my endorsements, as you can see from the magazine cover below. He was nice enough to let me post some of his work, but this is just a small fraction of it. You need to go visit his studio's blog at http://blog.briandorseystudios.com/ When I look at some of these photos on all of these blogs, I can't make up my mind which would be more fun, designing the flowers and decor for these weddings and events or being the one photographing them. I don't know why I didn't take up photography years ago. I guess it was the dark room stuff that scared me off. I have a feeling it is easier now than what it was when I was young (and stupid). I actually had an expensive camera for a few months back then until I lost it in a custody swap. I got the big unusual chair and He got the camera. It was a Nikon with a foot long zoom, that much I remember. It was actually the only thing of value we had. I wish I had realized how valuable it was. I could have had a fun, lucrative career by now. Oh well, hindsight won't help me now. Though I may take some photography classes when this wedding is done and paid for. Now, check out these photos. The last three photos show the designs of David Beahm, whom I wrote about in the post below this one.

David Beahm Design

Last night on twitter I saw Tami Brown aka @justcelebrate tweet about a crush she had on an event designer. I checked him out and fell in love myself. His name is David Beahm and he is a white Preston Bailey. If you haven't found him already go check out his designs on his website galleries. They are awesome. Looks like stuff I dream about designing myself if given the money, help and opportunity. You would definitely have to have a team of helpers though for these type of designs. Incredible. Here's his website. http://www.davidbeahm.com/customevents/#our-story-4c4f12 Oh, and by the way Tami brown is a pretty awesome designer herself. Her website is http://celebratewithtamibrown.com/

Photography Blogger of the Week http://www.jrgeoffrion.com

So , I need to get back to my photographer of the week posts. This week I'm naming JR Geoffrion He is a Chicago North Shore-based professional photographer specializing in my very own photojournalistic wedding reportage style for discerning Brides and Grooms. (In His own words.) JR has an interesting blog and website especially if you are interested in photography and how to improve your images. He even lists all of the equipment he uses. He has some gorgeous shots on his blog and has had photos published in quite a few magazines. Check out his artistry at http://www.jrgeoffrion.com Thanks to JR for being kind enough to get right back to me when I asked permission to use his photos on my blog. Here's just a taste of his beautiful work.

Ang & Erik

Angie and Erik recently went to Chicago's Lyric Opera "Tosca" with Erik's parents Hans and Tita. (See any resemblance there?) The foyer was filled with these beautiful flowers. I'm sorry I can't give credit to the florists because I have no idea who did them but I would have loved to have seen them in person. On another note, today Angie and Erik had their engagement session with bobbi+mike. We can't wait to see the results. When I saw this picture of them taken before they went to the opera it was instantly my favorite picture I've ever seen of them. It captures the way I see them act around each other all of the time and makes me laugh. bobbi+mike are great photographers but I'm wondering if any of their photos from today will capture these familiar expressions.
